Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel Lounge Info

We’ve been staying at the Heathrow Renaissance twice a year for some years and though it’s not the best lounge I’ve been to, it is consistently very good and the staff in there have always been great. There’s a small continental breakfast available in the morning but unless you need to grab something and run, you’re much better off going downstairs to the main dining room for the really excellent hot & cold breakfast buffet – which is free if you have status. You can go to the lounge most of the day to grab soft drinks (cold water, sodas etc in a fridge) + hot tea and coffee + hot chocolate. It’s from a machine but the coffee selection isn’t bad and they have a small but decent selection of tea bags. They also have a small selection of cookies, fruit and savory snacks available throughout the day. From 5-7pm (maybe 7:30pm), the lounge offers a selection of fairly decent wines (2 whites, 2 reds), beer and a plate of fairly good and substantial snacks (hot and cold) in addition to a cheese board with bread, crackers and some crudites. (I must say that the wines at this Renaissance have been better than many other lounges we have tried!) It can get pretty busy during this cocktail hour but we’ve always been able to find a seat for 2. The great thing about this lounge is the view! It overlooks one of the runways but the room has excellent insulation so you barely hear anything.
